Tequeria Barrett

Candidate for Precinct Delegate  ·  Detroit, MI

Democrat · Precinct Delegate

Detroit has always been home in the deepest sense — it's where family roots run deep and where Tequeria Barrett's passion for civil rights was first grounded. After six years in Atlanta — where she served as Vice President of the NAACP Georgia Conference and became an active member of the Fannie Lou Hamer PAC — she returned to continue her advocacy journey in the city that shaped her.

"I returned to Detroit to continue my advocacy journey in the place that grounded me in civil rights work."

Now working as a Voting Rights Organizer with the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Tequeria is on the ground every day fighting to ensure Black and Brown voices are heard at every level of democracy.

I'm not a politician — I'm just a neighbor who cares. The precinct delegate role may not make headlines, but it's one of the most important ways we can strengthen our community from the ground up. I'm running because I want to help make sure every voice in our precinct is heard and valued.

I'd be honored to have your support.
